Moulay Youssef Elkahfai was born in 1969 in Marrakesh, Morocco, where he lives and works.
He is speaker at the Visual Arts High School of Marrakesh. He teaches engraving and lithography. In 1993 he was graduated from the National Fine Arts of Tetuan, Morocco. He is an artist who has a lot of facets as he is a painter, an engraver and a sculptor.
In 2003 his drawing gifts pushed him to deepen his knowledge in the engraving field, completing his works as a painter.
This passion gave birth to a printing floor dedicated to creation for many other artists.
Elkahfai offers an other way to tackle art, the way of form legitimacy as pictural language, the reverse side of resemblance. He is overwhelmed by art as a powerful way of expression in his whole life.For more than twenty years in this career, Elkahfai is nowadays very well known in the moroccan atistic landscape ,and his paintings may be found in many collections, national and international as well.

Elkahfai My Youssef est né à Marrakech où il vit et travaille. Plus de vingt cinq ans de carrière artistique dont les riches expériences sont puisées essentiellement dans une quête perpétuelle de ce qui se trame à l’intérieur de l’humain, une quête qui représente la matière première vitale de ses travaux. L’artiste aime à expérimenter maints outils et matériaux toutefois la visée est unique et est toujours la même, tant en peinture, qu’en gravure, sculpture ou autre : celle de transcender la matière afin de faire émerger, une idée, une humeur ou une émotion.Artiste, fondateur d’atelier professionnel d’estampes, professeur à l’atelier d'impression à l’école supérieure des arts visuels, tant d’activités hétéroclites mais qui proviennent de la même essence et tendent vers la même finalité : l’Art. Ces démarches artistiques font de Youssef Elkahfai un artiste très apprécié, ses multiples expositions au Maroc et de par le monde en témoignent.
